Like most of the newer apps, this one runs off a gas API and AJAX’s the results. It’s reasonably fast and, since I just got gas this morning, I can tell you that the information is accurate. Check it out here: iPhone Gas App.

About the Adsense: I see adsense in the TOP and the BOTTOM of your page, so you should not hate them so much.
Do you think the webhosting for these apps is free ? This ad makes around 20 cents a day, I’m making myself rich right ?
Encouraging people not to support a FREE application amazes me. You should try to program an application, a free one, see the amount of time and effort it takes, just for the sake of bringing something useful to the community.
the funny thing is: you have a google ad right below the complaint about having google ads in a web app. click on the ads.
i think the developer should be rewarded by having us all click on his/her ad. I’m gonna click on every ad whenever i find one in a useful iphone web app. look there’s even a google ad on this page down below this comment field. they’re everywhere!
Unless - of course - the data is lifted from somewhere else and is not the intellectual property of the programmer
You’re right. At first when I read your comment in moderation I was pissed but now that I think about you’re right. It was hypocritical of me to say and I’m sorry.
The killer was this:
The reason it astounded me is that I AM a developer and I HAVE put free web applications out there–about a dozen. Although I haven’t put AdSense on any I have sold a few links to offset certain costs and I was wrong. I’m sorry.
I was biased because I’m ad-blind on real-sized monitors but on my iPhone the ads are more noticeable. Regardless, my entry was in no way fair; especially from someone who also programs for a living. I hope you accept my apology.
I couldn’t understand some parts of this article Apps, iPhone Applications, but I guess I just need to check some more resources regarding this, because it sounds interesting.
