One of things you’re likely to first notice with your new iPhone is the Stocks button. You might think it’s, if not cool, at least somewhat useful (assuming you have stocks to watch). Little did you know how weak that built-in application is compared to TTKLF4’s Stock Quotes app. Not only does it really open up the tracking, but it also can present recent related newsfeeds in an extremely easy, well-designed way. Now, the only question is how do take off the Stocks button and replace it with this?

Hello! And welcome to the wonderful world of the iPhone that the United States has known since June of this year. Not that you would ever want to find an attorney (unless you are one and looking for someone with whom to commiserate), but God forbid you find yourself in that position iPhone Attorney will help you. It’s a great concept and as of right now the only drawback I see is that it’s not very heavily populated with lawyers. All of the entries are for US states, and even of those there are only a handful. I don’t think it’s a must-have unless you are prone to trouble and live in one of the ten or so US states offered.

Although there are no EU/UK lottos up yet, Lotto App will quickly grab all of the current winning lottery numbers for those living in the United States. Each time we checked it, it was up to date and even had the combined lotteries of the Midwest listed. I used to live in the Deep South and I can tell you that the amount of people playing the lottery is ridiculous. Granted, most of them don’t have iPhones (or all their teeth) but if they did (have iPhones) they would take down the server with their constant checking.

As you know, I don’t particular care for reviewing games but every now and then one passes my desk that really merits a review. One of those is iPhone Hangman. The playability is great, it loads quickly, and despite playing well over a dozen games I didn’t get a duplicate word. You can’t beat that. It’s a great time killer so I’d advise bookmarking it immediately. The answer to that one, by the way, is Horse Racing.

My wife never understood why I kept such an “inane” website until she saw this application. Mobile Wine List lets you find out about new wines on the spot. My wife is big-time wine drinker and she frequently comes home with cases at time based largely on a single tasting and the marketing of the bottle. Not anymore–with this iPhone app she can root through all their offerings and come home with winners every time. A must-have for the wine drinkers in your life (including you).

BeeJive is an all-in-one messaging site that lets you IM with anyone with some sort of Instant Messaging device. As of now it allows for: AIM, MSN, ICQ, JIVE and the list goes on. It’s a fantastic iPhone application and my only complaint is that it browser-redirects you if you try to view the site and you’re not on the iPhone. I had to steal the screenshot for it. Bummer.

Christmas came early this year. I no longer have to endure the 1400 hour page loads with ESPN to see how badly my beloved FSU Seminoles are losing. With SportsTap I can now quickly check scores from my iPhone no matter where I am. Particularly impressive is the speed of the site–it is much, much faster than both Yahoo sports and ESPN, my two regular haunts for live updates. It has all the major teams in all professional sports so I would consider this to be a must-have. Check it out for yourself.

For all the things I love about Google, I can’t stand their Googlepages setup. Although I had some trouble getting to the site with my laptop, my iPhone rendered the site perfectly and I was able to check out the iPhone Meditation Timer. Since I’m in an airport now I can’t say that I actually tried it while meditating, but all of the features worked exactly how I expected–can you ask for more than that with any application?

I’ll be honest with you–I had no idea what this when I first hit the site. I get about six submissions a day and usually if I can’t figure the application out in about 5 seconds I’m gone. I invested another five for this one, for whatever reason, and I’m very glad I did. What Personal Radio does is essentially aggregate podcasts for your listening enjoyment. Once I figured this out I immediately bookmarked it. Since I travel a lot this will save me the hassle of pre-planning what I want to have available to me and I can stay up on anything I want. Awesome. Bookmark it!
